Fruktrocket Gul is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that captures the essence of a Swedish orchard through spontaneous fermentation. The aroma is a complex tapestry of funky wild yeast and the delicate, floral perfume of locally pressed pears. Built on a foundation of Pilsner and wheat malts, the palate is strikingly dry and refreshingly tart, where the natural acidity of the pears intertwines with rustic, earthy notes. Without filtration or additives, this pale, hazy ale offers a raw and expressive fruit character that is both elegant and wild, finishing with a crisp, mouth-watering snap that emphasizes its unadulterated, farm-to-glass origin.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, pale straw to light gold with a fine-textured white head that dissipates quickly, leaving minimal lacing; the lack of filtration is evident in its natural, rustic cloudiness.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics featuring bright, floral pear skin and ripe orchard fruit, underpinned by a complex wild funk characterized by earthy, leathery, and slightly hay-like notes from spontaneous fermentation; subtle grainy wheat notes are present in the background.
Taste. The initial impression is a sharp, clean lactic acidity followed by deep fermented pear flavors; the sweetness is entirely fermented out, leaving a bone-dry profile. Low to no hop bitterness allows the tart fruit and funky yeast character to dominate, with a lingering, mineral-like and acidic aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and effervescent with high carbonation that prickles the tongue; a very slight tannic astringency from the pear pressings adds structure, while the finish is exceptionally crisp with no perceptible alcohol warmth.
