This New England Double IPA delivers a saturated tropical experience, driven by a powerhouse quartet of hops. The aroma is led by Citra and Galaxy, offering intense waves of passion fruit, peach, and citrus zest. Mosaic adds depth with notes of blueberries and earthy pine, while Nelson Sauvin introduces a sophisticated white wine grape and crushed gooseberry character. On the palate, a soft, bready malt provides a plush foundation for these fruit-forward flavors, leading to a smooth, low-bitterness finish. At 8.7% ABV, it carries a gentle, integrated warmth that enhances the lush, juice-like profile of this collaborative effort.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (5-7 SRM). Opaque, milky haze with a thick, long-lasting, creamy white head that leaves dense decorative lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by tropical fruit (passion fruit, mango) and citrus (grapefruit, lime) from Citra and Galaxy. Secondary notes of ripe berries from Mosaic and a distinct vinous, white-grape character from Nelson Sauvin. Clean, crackery malt in the background with minimal yeast esters.
Taste. Massive hop-forward impact featuring nectarine, pineapple, and lime zest. A soft, doughy malt sweetness supports the fruit without becoming heavy. Hop bitterness is present but restrained and smooth, characteristic of the New England sub-style. The finish is juicy and slightly dry with lingering notes of tropical resin and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, velvety body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth that avoids being hot. Zero astringency.
