In the Shadows is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a complex hop tapestry of Rakau, Citra, Simcoe, Idaho-7, and HBC630. It pours with a luminous, opaque glow, offering an immediate sensory rush of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest. The inclusion of flaked oats and spelt malt provides a plush, bready foundation that supports the intense tropical fruit profile. A delicate undercurrent of resinous pine from the Simcoe provides a balanced counterpoint to the juicy sweetness. The finish is soft and refreshing, marked by a gentle bitterness and lingering notes of stone fruit and berry.

Appearance. Straw to gold (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous sheen. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.

Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring layers of mango, grapefruit, and passion fruit from the Citra and Idaho-7. Subtle berry and stone fruit notes from HBC630 and Rakau are present, backed by a resinous Simcoe pine. The malt character is low, presenting as freshly baked bread and grainy sweetness from the oats and spelt.

Taste. A massive explosion of tropical fruit and citrus zest dominates the palate. The malt flavor is medium-low, offering a soft, bready cushion that balances the hop intensity. Bitterness is low to moderate, feeling remarkably smooth rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and juicy, with a clean fermentation profile and a lingering essence of tropical fruit skin.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristically soft, silky, and pillowy texture from the flaked grains. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel without any harshness or astringency.
