Miss Californication is a bold reimagining of the Eisbock style, where Freigeist Bierkultur swaps a traditional dark lager for a potent IPA. This freeze-distillation process concentrates the hop-derived fruitiness and malt sugars into a viscous, mahogany-hued elixir. Expect an intense sensory experience where the light caramel notes of the malt backbone collide with concentrated stone fruit and citrus nuances typical of a high-gravity West Coast base. At 13.2% ABV, the alcohol is prominent yet smooth, providing a deep, spirit-like warmth. This is a complex, sipping beer that balances the decadence of a rich, strong lager with the vibrant, fruity intensity of a concentrated ale.

Appearance. Deep copper with distinct ruby highlights. Clarity is good to brilliant. Head retention is poor, quickly fading to a thin, off-white ring. Pronounced legs are visible on the glass due to the high alcohol and sugar concentration.

Aroma. High intensity with a dominant rich, toasty malt character and light caramel. The concentration process yields powerful fruity notes of dried apricot and mango. A clean, definite alcohol presence is noticeable but lacks any harsh solvent qualities.
