This striking Weizenbock marries the rich, bready foundation of dark wheat malt and Munich malt with a vibrant infusion of real blueberries. On the nose, classic German weizen yeast esters of ripe banana and spicy clove entwine beautifully with jammy, sweet-tart forest berry aromas. The palate delivers a luxurious, full-bodied experience where the deep, toasted character of the malt grist meets a juicy, dark fruit complexity, highlighted by the rustic, slightly earthy fruitiness of the blueberries. Balanced by a gentle alcohol warmth and soft carbonation, it finishes with a satisfying, fruit-forward complexity.
Appearance. Deep ruby-brown to dark purple-tinted amber (SRM 18-22). Very thick, moussy, long-lasting light pinkish-tan head. Hazy with a soft, yeast- and fruit-induced opalescence.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent bready, sweet-grainy wheat malt richness with toasted accents. Moderate-to-high banana and spicy clove yeast phenols, overlaid with a distinct, jammy blueberry fruitiness and subtle undertones of dark raisins and plums. No hop aroma. Low, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is richly malty and fruit-forward. Deep, toasted wheat flavors blend with a prominent, natural blueberry character that adds a touch of skin-like tartness. Medium-low yeast esters of banana and clove spice follow. Low bitterness leaves a slightly sweet, luxurious impression, finishing off-dry with a lingering berry skin and dark fruit aftertaste. No hop flavor.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body. Soft, fluffy, and highly creamy texture from the wheat. Moderate-high carbonation. Mild, smooth, and well-integrated alcohol warmth.
