This vibrant Double IPA showcases the innovative Superdelic hop variety in a singular, potent expression. A pale gold pour delivers an immediate, intense aromatic punch of ripe red berries, sweet citrus, and tropical candy. On the palate, the hop-forward profile mirrors the nose with layers of succulent strawberry and zesty passionfruit, supported by a clean, neutral malt base that ensures the hop character remains the focus. Despite its 7.8% strength, the beer finishes crisp and dry with a firm, integrated bitterness typical of the style, inviting another sip while providing a subtle, warming presence and a clean, lingering finish.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing; clarity is mostly clear with a very slight, modern haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of red berries, strawberry, and tropical passionfruit with a background of sweet citrus and candy. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy base that allows the hops to dominate. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of vibrant hop fruitiness, mirroring the aroma with layers of berry and citrus pith. Malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, resembling light crackers. Bitterness is firm and moderately high, providing a clean counterpoint to the hop oils without being harsh. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
