Phantom Collage is an assertive Double IPA that showcases a sophisticated hop profile featuring Nectaron, Motueka, Citra BBC, and Mosaic BBC. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense bouquet of crushed pineapple, nectarine, and zesty lime, supported by deeper layers of blueberry and resinous pine. While the hop impact is profound, the malt remains clean and lean, allowing the vibrant tropical fruit notes to shine. It finishes with a firm, crisp bitterness and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances its drinkability. This modern interpretation balances high-intensity aromatics with a clean, dry, and professional finish typical of the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Topped with a persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing. Clarity is mostly clear with a slight, modern haze acceptable for the style.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics featuring dominant notes of pineapple and peach from Nectaron, accompanied by Motueka's distinct lime zest. Citra BBC and Mosaic BBC provide a complex backdrop of grapefruit, passion fruit, and subtle berry. Malt is low and neutral-grainy.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical stone fruit and citrus oils. The hop flavor is complex, transitioning from sweet melon to a lingering resinous finish. Bitterness is high but smooth, supported by a minimal cracker-like malt backbone. Finishes dry with a clean, lingering hop bitterness and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A gentle, restrained alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the strength without being solventy or hot.
