Morning Glory is a decadent Imperial Coffee Cream Stout that leads with an intense, freshly roasted coffee presence. This jet-black ale showcases a luxurious interplay between dark chocolate malts and the silky sweetness of added lactose. Notes of espresso and roasted cocoa beans dominate the profile, supported by a significant 12% alcohol backbone that provides a smooth, integrated warmth. The richness of the malt bill offers secondary layers of molasses and dark fruits, while the coffee addition provides a vibrant, earthy complexity. It is an indulgent, full-bodied experience where the adjuncts enhance the robust base without veering into cloying territory, resulting in a sophisticated dessert-like profile.

Appearance. Opaque, obsidian black (SRM 40+). Features a dense, persistent mocha-colored head with excellent lacing and a creamy texture.

Aroma. High intensity aroma of freshly ground espresso and dark chocolate. The lactose provides a soft, creamy vanilla-like sweetness. Deep roasted malt character includes hints of charred grain and molasses, with subtle dark fruit esters like plum or raisin. Low hop aroma.

Taste. Bold initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and concentrated coffee. Medium-high bitterness from both roasted grains and coffee beans, balanced by a prominent, creamy lactose sweetness. Complex malt flavors of toffee and cocoa. The finish is long and warming with a lingering roasted essence.

Mouthfeel. Full, viscous, and velvety body. Low to moderate carbonation enhances the creamy texture provided by the lactose. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth, lacking any harsh fusel edges.
