Mind Control is a vibrant American IPA that showcases a sophisticated interplay between Mosaic and Simcoe hops. The sensory journey begins with an explosion of tropical passion fruit and resinous pine, underpinned by subtle notes of blueberry and citrus zest. A clean, crackery malt base provides just enough structure to support the intense hop character without detracting from the dry, refreshing finish. The bitterness is firm yet refined, lingering pleasantly on the palate alongside hints of grapefruit. At 6.5% ABV, this beer embodies a modern interpretation of the style, focusing on aromatic complexity and a crisp, highly drinkable profile.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (SRM 8) with brilliant clarity. Features a persistent, rocky white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pine and resinous Simcoe, layered over Mosaic's signature tropical mango and ripe berry notes. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt provides a neutral background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of grapefruit and passion fruit, followed by earthy pine. Medium-high to high bitterness is supported by a low, bready malt character. The finish is medium-dry to dry, leaving a lingering hoppy aftertaste without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a lively mouthfeel, with a very light, smooth alcohol warmth consistent with its strength.
