Long Player by FrauGruber is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a sophisticated hop blend of Riwaka, Superdelic, and Citra BBC. The sensory experience is dominated by an explosion of tropical fruit, featuring punchy passionfruit and zesty lime citrus, layered with a unique red berry candy character. This intensity is supported by a soft, pillowy malt base that provides a bready foundation without adding sweetness. The beer maintains a lush, juice-like profile with a restrained bitterness that allows the complex hop oils to linger. It captures the essence of the modern style through its seamless integration of high-impact New World hop varieties and a smooth, approachable structure.
Appearance. Straw to deep golden color (4-6 SRM). Intensely hazy and opaque with a luminous quality. Features a persistent, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick, decorative lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent passionfruit, mango, and zesty lime. Distinctive notes of sweet red berries and citrus peel are evident. Low, bready, and grainy malt character provides a neutral background. Fermentation profile is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. High to very high hop flavors mirroring the aroma with tropical punch, grapefruit, and stone fruit qualities. Malt flavor is low to medium, presenting as fresh bread or lightly grainy. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and well-integrated. The finish is off-dry and smooth, featuring a long, fruity aftertaste without any harshness or hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency or harshness is present, and there is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength.
