Empty Temples by FrauGruber Brewing is a vibrant Hazy IPA showcasing an intricate blend of modern and Southern Hemisphere hops. The sensory experience is led by the intense tropical profile of Nectaron and Riwaka, delivering concentrated notes of crushed pineapple, passionfruit, and bright lime zest. This is layered with the distinctive red berry and stone fruit nuances of Superdelic and HBC 630, providing a peach and nectarine sweetness. The malt base remains softly bready, supporting a pillowy mouthfeel and restrained bitterness typical of the style. The result is a highly expressive, juice-forward profile that finishes with a clean, fruity lingering aftertaste.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3–5 SRM); opaque with a significant haze and a luminous 'shine.' Supports a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex bouquet of pineapple, passionfruit, and ripe peach. Distinct notes of lime zest and subtle red berries emerge alongside a clean, neutral, and lightly bready malt background. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with bold tropical punch, nectarine, and citrus. Low bready malt character provides a foundation without sweetness. Bitterness is low-to-medium and soft, lacking any harshness. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with a lingering fruit-skin aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency or hop burn is present, and there is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
