FrauGruber Brewing

This Double IPA radiates an intense modern hop profile, driven by a lush combination of Enigma, Vic Secret, Talus, and Citra BBC. It opens with an explosive bouquet of pineapple, white grape, and pink grapefruit, layered over subtle notes of dried roses and resinous pine. The palate mirrors this complexity, offering a saturated tropical fruit experience that transitions into a firm, clean bitterness. A light, crackery malt base provides just enough support for the 8.5% ABV without intruding on the dry, snappy finish. Each sip reveals a vibrant interplay of red berries and stone fruit, characteristic of this bold and aromatically charged ale.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale copper (8-10 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a dense, persistent off-white head that provides excellent lacing.

Aroma. Intensity is high, featuring a complex blend of pineapple and passion fruit from Vic Secret, paired with the unique white grape and berry notes of Enigma. Citra BBC contributes sharp lime and mango, while Talus adds a distinctive floral rose and herbal sage character. Malt is neutral and clean.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and citrus fruit. Hop flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, and red currants dominate. Bitterness is firm and high but lacks harshness. The malt character is low and crackery, supporting a very dry finish. The aftertaste lingers with resinous pine and citrus zest.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively prickle. A well-integrated, gentle alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth and non-solventy.
