This Hazy IPA showcases a singular focus on Citra hops, specifically the oil-rich BBC pellets. It pours a luminous, opaque straw color with a dense, meringue-like white head. The aroma is a concentrated blast of tropical fruit, leading with ripe mango, passionfruit, and bright lime zest, backed by a clean, bready malt foundation. On the palate, the juicy hop intensity is high, offering layers of grapefruit and lychee with a restrained, soft bitterness. The mouthfeel is characteristically plush and medium-full, providing a silky backdrop for the hop oils without any harshness, finishing with a lingering, fruit-forward smoothness.
Appearance. Luminous straw to pale gold (4-6 SRM); opaque, uniform haze with a brilliant shine; thick, rocky, white head with excellent retention and glass-clinging lacing.
Aroma. Intense, punchy aroma of tropical and citrus fruit; prominent notes of ripe mango, passionfruit, and grapefruit zest from the Citra hops. Low grainy-sweet, bready malt in the background; clean fermentation profile with no discernible esters or alcohol.
Taste. High-intensity hop flavors mirroring the aroma; succulent mango, lychee, and citrus pith. Low bready malt flavor provides a subtle foundation. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and well-integrated. Finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with a long, fruity aftertaste and no hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth; smooth and creamy without being heavy or viscous.
