Bright Idea by FrauGruber is an expressive Wild Specialty Beer that harmonizes a bold fruit trio with complex fermentation. The sensory profile is defined by the jammy, tart intensity of Raspberry and the deep, vinous qualities of Black Currant puree. These dark berry layers are brightened by the aromatic, floral citrus of Yuzu juice, adding a lemon-lime zestiness that cuts through the rustic funk of the wild yeast. The fermentation character is clean but assertive, contributing a sharp acidity and a bone-dry finish. This vibrant ale showcases a sophisticated balance between fruit-forward acidity and the untamed complexity of wild ales.

Appearance. Deep magenta to ruby-red with a hazy, opaque appearance. Pours with a moderate, pink-tinted head that shows fair retention and leaves light lacing.

Aroma. High aromatic intensity featuring pungent notes of fresh raspberry and earthy black currant. Distinctive floral and citrusy yuzu aromatics are present. Moderate wild yeast character, including light horse blanket and leather, integrated with a sharp lactic tartness.

Taste. Initial impression is sharply tart and fruity. Dominant flavors of tart raspberry and pithy black currant lead into a floral yuzu citrus mid-palate. The fermentation is highly attenuated, resulting in a very dry finish. Low malt character, allowing fruit acids and light funky phenols to provide the primary structure.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, spritzy carbonation. A light tannin-induced astringency from the berry skins enhances the dryness. No perceived alcohol warmth at 6.3% ABV.
