FrauGruber Brewing

This Double IPA is a vibrant sensory showcase of modern hop intensity. The profile is dominated by the deliberate combination of Idaho-7, Nectaron, and Citra hops, which weave together a complex tapestry of overripe pineapple, fleshy stone fruit, and zesty grapefruit. A lean, neutral malt base ensures the tropical and resinous hop layers remain the primary focus, while the double dry-hopping process provides an explosive aromatic punch without vegetal harshness. At 8.3% ABV, there is a smooth, integrated warmth that supports the firm bitterness, resulting in a bright, punchy ale with a clean, lingering finish.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (approx. 7 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing. Clarity is slightly hazy, reflecting its heavy dry-hop load.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit (mango, pineapple), stone fruit (peach, nectarine), and bright citrus. Low, neutral grainy malt sits in the background. Fermentation is clean with very light, supportive fruity esters and a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and citrus hop flavors, specifically peach, passionfruit, and grapefruit. Bitterness is high but smooth and lacking harshness. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing just enough support to avoid being thin. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. Free from hop-derived astringency.
