Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (8 SRM). Moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with significant lacing. Slight haze is present, common for modern heavily dry-hopped versions.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy notes of passion fruit and pineapple from Vic Secret, complemented by the grapefruit and lime character of Citra. Amarillo BBC adds layers of orange marmalade and light floral blossoms. Malt is low and neutral, providing a crackery backdrop. Subtle, clean ethanol is present without being solventy.
Taste. High hop flavor echoes the aroma with notes of resinous pine, tropical fruit, and citrus peel. Bitterness is firm and high but lacks harshness. The malt provides a soft, supportive foundation of white bread and light toast. Fermentation is clean with very low esters. The finish is medium-dry with a long, lingering hop-bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 10.2% strength. No hop-derived astringency.
