This American IPA showcases a vibrant hop profile led by Superdelic, Nelson Sauvin, and Simcoe. On the nose, intense notes of white wine grapes and crushed gooseberries from the Nelson Sauvin mingle with Simcoe’s resinous pine and Superdelic’s unique candy-like red fruit and citrus. A sturdy base of Golden Promise and Pale malt provides a clean, bready sweetness and a smooth, medium body enhanced by the protein-rich Chit malt. Fermented cleanly with BRY-97 yeast, the palate delivers a firm bitterness that balances tropical passionfruit flavors before finishing dry and crisp with a lingering, hoppy bite.
Appearance. Deep gold with brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent white wine, gooseberry, and passionfruit, backed by grapefruit zest and a subtle resinous pine. Low grainy-sweet malt character with a very clean fermentation profile and no detectable esters.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit and citrus pith followed by an assertive, clean bitterness. The mid-palate reveals light bready notes and toasted grain. Finishes very dry with a lingering hop resin and citrus peel aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at the back of the throat.
