Gone Fishing is a crisp and exceptionally refreshing International Pale Lager that leans into its delicate ingredient profile. Brewed with a base of Pale and Pilsner malts alongside Maize, it offers a subtle, grainy sweetness and a clean, crackery foundation. The use of Hallertauer Mittelfruh hops imparts a refined, low-intensity bouquet of dried flowers and mild spice, perfectly balancing the neutral profile of the W-34/70 yeast. At a sessionable 4% ABV, this lager delivers a high-clarity, pale gold pour with a snappy, dry finish that emphasizes its thirst-quenching intent and high drinkability.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (2-3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a frothy white head that shows moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to medium-low intensity. Clean malt profile featuring grainy-sweet notes and a touch of corny sweetness. Hop character is very low to low, presenting as subtle floral and spicy notes from the Hallertauer Mittelfruh. Fermentation is perfectly clean with no esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and neutral. Light flavors of Pilsner malt and bread crust are followed by a faint, pleasant corny sweetness. Hop flavor is low, providing a delicate herbal and spicy counterpoint. Bitterness is medium-low, just enough to balance the malt. The finish is very dry, clean, and snappy with a short, neutral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a moderately high carbonation that provides a refreshing carbonic bite. No alcohol warmth is perceived. Smooth and highly attenuated without any astringency.
