Fox Friday Craft Brewery

This sessionable Dark Mild delivers a sophisticated sensory profile despite its low gravity. The foundation of Maris Otter and Aromatic malts creates a rich, bready base, while layers of Dark Crystal, Brown, and Chocolate malts contribute complex notes of cocoa, toffee, and toasted hazelnuts. The addition of Rolled Oats imparts a silky, refined texture that balances the subtle earthy spice of East Kent Goldings hops. Fermented with Bluestone New England yeast, the beer exhibits a gentle stone-fruit ester profile that integrates seamlessly with the malt-forward palate, resulting in a dark, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing ale.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with ruby highlights (20-25 SRM). Displays a moderate, creamy tan head with fair retention and light lacing; generally clear.

Aroma. Moderate malt intensity featuring layers of milk chocolate, toasted bread, and light caramel. Very low earthy and floral hop character. Noticeable fruity esters suggestive of red apple and plum from the characterful yeast.

Taste. Initial impression of sweet biscuit and nutty malt. Flavors of dark chocolate and coffee emerge mid-palate. Bitterness is low but sufficient to balance the malt sweetness without being dominant. Finishes with a lingering toasty grain character and a hint of dried fruit.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel attributed to the rolled oats. Carbonation is low to moderate, ensuring high drinkability. No alcohol warmth.
