Code of Silence is a powerful Double IPA that showcases an intensive layering of Citra, Citra Cryo, Mosaic, and Mosaic Cryo. The aroma is a saturating blast of tropical mango, ripe passionfruit, and bright citrus zest, supported by a lush, grainy backbone of Golden Promise and Pale malts. Despite the high strength, the addition of dextrose ensures a deceptively dry finish, while rolled oats, wheat, and a touch of lactose provide a creamy, pillowy texture. Bluestone New England yeast adds subtle stone fruit esters, rounding out this bold, hop-saturated experience with a smooth, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange color (7–9 SRM). Significant, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing. Hazy clarity resulting from the use of rolled oats, wheat, and New England yeast.
Aroma. High intensity hop character featuring prominent Citra and Mosaic notes of mango, blueberry, and grapefruit. Supportive, clean, grainy maltiness from Golden Promise. Low fruity esters of peach and apricot. No solventy alcohol.
Taste. Strong tropical and citrus hop flavors. Moderately high bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh. A soft, supportive malt profile with light biscuit notes. Finishes medium-dry and clean with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Low lactose sweetness balances the bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
