Appearance. Pale ruby to deep amber (10-15 SRM) with a light pinkish tint from the grapes. Moderate off-white head with fair retention and fine lacing. Slight haze is present, typical of a mature blended beer.
Aroma. High intensity featuring complex Brettanomyces funk: horse blanket, leather, and dusty hay. Locally grown Corot Noir grapes contribute subtle notes of red berries and black cherry. Low bready malt and distinct toasted oak presence.
Taste. Initially vinous and bone-dry with a firm but balanced acidity. Flavors of grape skin and dark berries meld with a rustic, earthy funk.
