Founders PC Pils
This American-hopped interpretation of a German Pils offers a vibrant sensory evolution of a classic style. The appearance is brilliant gold with a persistent, creamy white head. On the nose, traditional herbal notes are replaced by a massive bouquet of piney Chinook, citrusy Cascade, and floral Centennial hops. The palate follows suit, delivering a clean, grainy malt foundation that quickly yields to a firm, punchy bitterness. Perfectly clean and profoundly crushable, it finishes bone-dry and crisp. The selection of American hops provides a modern, resinous twist while maintaining the elegant, refreshing structure expected of a masterfully crafted lager.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring distinct notes of grapefruit peel, pine resin, and soft floral blossoms. Low grainy-sweet malt character suggesting toasted crackers or fresh dough. Very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial flash of bready, cracker-like malt quickly overtaken by assertive hop flavors of citrus zest and pine. Medium-high bitterness is firm but not harsh, dominating the balance. The finish is remarkably dry, crisp, and clean, with a lingering resinous hop quality and a subtle minerally snap.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that enhances the crispness. Very smooth with no astringency and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol presence.
