Fort Lapin Kriek is a kriek lambic beer from Belgian microbrewery Fort Lapin. Based just north of Bruges in Belgium, Fort Lapin is named after the area where the brewery is located. Fort Lapin brewery was established in 2011 as a modern Belgian microbrewery dedicated to making high-end Belgian ales. What is a kriek lambic beer? The term lambic indicates a beer fermented using wild yeast and bacteria from a particular area of Belgium, the Zenne Valley. As a result of this, the beer takes on a funky, sour character. A kriek lambic has the addition of cherries, giving the beer a deep red colour and strong cherry flavour.
