Flowerhorn Plits is a vibrant, sensory-driven Fruit Beer that captures the essence of a fresh raspberry lemonade. A striking fusion of 45 litres of lemon juice and 3.5kg of lemon zest provides a sharp, zesty citrus backbone, which is beautifully softened by the addition of 40 litres of raspberry puree. The hop profile, featuring Citra and Amarillo, enhances the fruit character with notes of tropical grapefruit and bright orange peel. A soft, pale malt base keeps the experience grounded in its IPA roots, resulting in a tart yet balanced profile that finishes with a clean, refreshing fruit-forward crispness.
Appearance. A hazy, pale rose-pink to soft amber hue with a frothy, light pink head that shows moderate retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by fresh-squeezed lemon juice and aromatic zest. A distinct jammy raspberry sweetness follows, complemented by the citrus and floral hop notes of grapefruit and orange. Low crackery malt character is present but secondary.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, refreshing lemonade tartness. The raspberry puree provides a subtle berry sweetness that balances the lemon acidity. Hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus peel are evident throughout, leading to a moderate, clean bitterness. The finish is off-dry and crisp with a lingering citrus zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate-high carbonation that accentuates the tart acidity. Smooth on the palate with very low alcohol warmth and no detectable astringency.
