Flowerhorn Nibs
Flowerhorn Nibs is a decadent Sweet Stout that presents an indulgent sensory profile centered on its collaboration with Heist Chocolate. The aroma is dominated by an intense, luxurious wave of Peruvian Cacao Nibs, offering deep notes of dark cocoa and sweetened espresso. On the palate, a complex base of Chocolate Malt provides a roasty depth that avoids harshness, while the inclusion of Oats and Lactose creates a remarkably thick, velvet-like texture. This creamy mouthfeel carries a lingering sweetness reminiscent of a liquid chocolate truffle, balanced by a mild bitterness that ensures a smooth, dessert-like finish with a full, satisfying presence.
Appearance. Opaque, deep obsidian black (SRM 40). Pours with a thick, dense, creamy tan head that demonstrates excellent retention and leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity of rich milk chocolate and cocoa powder from the Peruvian Cacao Nibs. Underlying notes of dark-roasted coffee and sweet cream from the lactose. Very low earthy hop aroma and subtle dark fruit esters.
Taste. Initial impression is highly sweet and chocolate-forward. Intense flavors of dark chocolate and cocoa dominate, supported by a smooth, roasty backbone from the Chocolate Malt. Low to moderate bitterness provides a necessary counterpoint to the high residual sugar. The finish is long, creamy, and sweet with a lingering cocoa-rich aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a notably high creaminess derived from the oats and lactose. Carbonation is moderate to low, and there is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
