This refreshing Fruit Beer presents a vibrant sensory interplay between bright citrus and modern hops. Brewed with lemon and lime peel and juice, the profile leads with a sharp, zesty punch that seamlessly integrates with the lime-forward character of Motueka and the tropical, melon-like notes of Cashmere hops. The addition of Motueka Subzero Hop Kief and Cashmere CGX intensifies the citrus aromatics without adding heavy bitterness. It drinks like a crisp, sessionable Pale Ale, offering a clean bready malt backbone that supports the tart acidity. The finish is remarkably dry and effervescent, making it an expertly balanced and highly drinkable collaboration.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). Pours with a moderate, bright white head characterized by good retention and fine lacing. Displays a slight, uniform haze consistent with a modern pale ale base.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh lime zest and lemon oil. These primary citrus notes are layered over secondary tropical scents of melon and citrus candy derived from the Motueka and Cashmere hops. Low bready malt sweetness provides a neutral foundation, with no noticeable fermentation esters or phenols.
Taste. The initial impression is a tart, refreshing burst of lime and lemon juice. Hop flavors follow with crushed lime and herbal lemongrass. Malt flavor is low, reminiscent of cracker or light bread. Bitterness is mild, providing just enough structure to balance the fruit acidity. The finish is very dry and clean, featuring a lingering, bright citrus zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, prickly carbonation that enhances the refreshing citrus qualities. Alcohol warmth is not perceived. The texture is smooth and crisp with no significant astringency from the fruit peels.
