Floem

BEAR:ISH is a high-gravity Double IPA that commands attention with its juicy profile and 10% ABV strength. A thick, pillowy foundation of oats and wheat supports an intense tropical bombardment. The signature Idaho #7 and El Dorado hops unleash waves of overripe pineapple and stone fruit, while Sabro adds a subtle, creamy coconut complexity. These hop traits are amplified by the addition of real mango and apricot, creating a dense, nectar-like fruit character. Despite its power, the beer maintains the focused hop-forward balance expected of the style, finishing with a lingering, resinous bitterness and a smooth, warming glow.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-12 SRM) with a thick, persistent, creamy off-white head. The substantial use of oats and wheat results in an opaque, hazy appearance characteristic of modern interpretations.

Aroma. High intensity featuring dominant notes of ripe mango and fuzzy apricot. Strong hop aroma follows with tropical fruit, melon, and a distinctive hint of coconut from the Sabro. Background notes of sweet, bready malt and a clean, noticeable alcohol presence are evident.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit juice. Flavors of mango and apricot meld seamlessly with the stone fruit character of El Dorado and Idaho #7. Sabro provides a creamy, tropical nuance. Bitterness is firm (60-80 IBU range), balancing the heavy grain bill. The finish is medium-dry and long, with lingering fruit esters and a resinous hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, velvety creaminess from the heavy oat and wheat additions. Carbonation is moderate. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy or harsh.
