Floc. Superstitious is a vibrant American IPA that bridges classic West Coast intensity with modern textures. A foundation of pale and extra pale malt provides a lean, grainy canvas for a high-impact hop profile featuring Centennial, Citra, and Simcoe. The aroma is a fragrant blend of pine resin, grapefruit zest, and tropical passion fruit. On the palate, a firm bitterness is balanced by clean, cracker-like malt flavors and a crisp fermentation character from the American West Coast yeast. The finish is decisively dry, leaving a lingering trail of citrus peel and resinous hop oils that invite another sip.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber color (7-9 SRM). Despite the West Coast inspiration, the pour exhibits a persistent haze. Crowned by a medium-sized, frothy white head with excellent persistence and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus and resinous notes. Centennial and Citra provide bright grapefruit and lime zest, while Simcoe adds a distinctive piney and slightly earthy background. Very low, clean, grainy maltiness with no caramel. Clean fermentation profile with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean hop punch. Assertive hop bitterness is medium-high to high. Flavors of grapefruit, resinous pine, and tropical fruit are prominent. The pale and extra pale malt provides a light, neutral, bready support that never interferes with the hops. Finishes very dry and crisp with a long-lasting, clean, bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the haze-driven suspension. Moderate to high carbonation provides a refreshing, prickly sensation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
