Flandrine Pilsner is a delicate and highly refreshing interpretation of a German Pils, designed for warm climates and sophisticated, leisurely enjoyment. It presents a crisp sensory profile anchored by a clean fermentation and a light, crackery malt base. Vibrant floral and spicy hop notes characteristic of traditional German noble hops offer a bright, sophisticated counterpoint to the subtle honey-like sweetness of the pilsner malt. Its light body and effervescent nature make it exceptionally drinkable, leading to a bone-dry, snappy finish that invites another sip while one enjoys art or music. This light lager emphasizes clarity and precision over heavy malt weight.
Appearance. Pale straw to light yellow (2-3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with forward floral and spicy hop character. A low grainy-sweet and doughy malt presence provides a clean backdrop, occasionally suggesting toasted crackers. Fermentation is clean with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. A crisp initial impression of light grainy malt is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and spicy hop flavors. The balance is decidedly bitter but refined. Finishes very dry and crisp with a light, lingering herbal hop note and a touch of mineral character.
Mouthfeel. Light body with high carbonation. Very refreshing and crisp; lacks any alcoholic warmth or heavy textures, providing a snappy, flinty sensation on the palate.
