This modern Double IPA presents an expressive and lush hop-forward profile, highlighting a generous dry-hop addition of HBC 1019 and Sabro. The sensory experience is led by a vibrant tropical medley, where succulent peach and ripe pineapple notes from the HBC 1019 meld seamlessly with the creamy coconut and bright citrus accents characteristic of Sabro. Despite its 8% strength, the beer maintains an approachable, clean character with a notably soft finish. The malt profile is intentionally supportive and neutral, allowing the complex fruit esters and hop oils to remain the focus, while the uncharacteristically low bitterness ensures a smooth, juice-like drinkability.
Appearance. Gold with a light orange hue (7 SRM). Dense, persistent white head with fine-beaded lacing. Moderate hazy appearance, characteristic of modern juice-forward interpretations.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pineapple, stone fruit (peach), and zesty citrus. Substantial tropical notes from HBC 1019 are complemented by a hint of coconut and cream from the Sabro. Malt is a supportive, neutral, grainy background. Clean fermentation with very low, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Dominant flavors of ripe peach and juicy pineapple take center stage, followed by a secondary wave of bright citrus. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, providing a neutral base that avoids caramel or toast. Bitterness is uncharacteristically low for the style, resulting in a smooth, juice-forward balance. The finish is clean and medium-dry with a lingering essence of tropical fruit and tropical hop oils.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol presence is well-integrated, providing a light, restrained warmth without harshness. Lacks any hop-derived astringency.
