Headspace is a vibrant West Coast style American IPA that showcases a classic hop profile of Citra, Simcoe, Cascade, and Centennial. The sensory experience is defined by a clean, lean malt backbone that allows the hop-derived notes of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and subtle tropical fruit to take center stage. With a modest 5.5% ABV, it offers a refreshing drinkability while maintaining the assertive bitterness characteristic of the style. The collaboration results in a crisp, dry profile where floral and citrus oils harmonize against a cracker-like malt base, finishing with a snap of bitterness and a clean fermentation character.
Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity and a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus zest, floral blossoms, and resinous pine from the Cascade and Centennial hops, supported by Citra's tropical fruit notes. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral base with no significant esters.
Taste. Firm bitterness leads into flavors of grapefruit, lemon peel, and forest floor. The Simcoe provides a grounding earthiness, while the Citra and Cascade offer bright citrus highlights. Malt flavor is low and bready, supporting a very dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. High carbonation enhances the dry finish, and there is no perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
