This American IPA delivers a quintessential West Coast sensory experience, characterized by its assertive hop-forward profile and lean malt structure. The aromatics are intense, lead by a pungent combination of pine resin and zesty grapefruit, with underlying hints of damp earth and subtle tropical fruit. On the palate, a firm and clean bitterness takes center stage, supported by a restrained, crackery malt base that allows the resinous hop flavors to dominate. Finback’s clean fermentation ensures a crisp, snappy character throughout, culminating in a bone-dry finish with a persistent, refreshing bitterness that defines the style's classic, bright, and uncompromising nature.

Appearance. Pours a clear, bright gold to light amber (approx. 7 SRM) with a medium-sized, frothy white head that exhibits good persistence and leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pine needle, resinous sap, and citrus peel. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral backdrop, while fermentation remains clean and free of significant esters.

Taste. The initial impression is one of crisp, high hop bitterness that lingers into a dry finish. Hop flavors of grapefruit pith, lemon zest, and resin are prevalent. Malt flavor is low, presenting as neutral grain or light toasted bread. The balance is heavily shifted toward hops, ending with a clean, bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 7% ABV without being harsh.
