A high-gravity collaboration between Fidens and Wayward Lane, this Triple Double IPA showcases a saturated hop profile centered on Manilita, Peacharine, and Nelson. The 10.5% ABV provides a substantial canvas for the Nelson Hop Kief, which drives an intense sensory experience of crushed gooseberry and vinous white grape. The Peacharine contributes lush notes of overripe nectarine and fuzzy peach, while Manilita rounds out the profile with vibrant tropical citrus. Despite its formidable strength, the beer remains focused on hop expression, utilizing a clean malt base to ensure the complex stone fruit and resinous layers of the Nelson Sauvin remain the primary focus.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7–12 SRM). Modern hazy appearance with significant opacity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent white wine, gooseberry, and diesel notes from Nelson Sauvin and Nelson Hop Kief. High stone fruit character including peach and nectarine, with a tropical citrus background. Malt is neutral, clean, and grainy. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of white grape, tropical passion fruit, and succulent peach. Bitterness is firm and moderately high, but remains smooth rather than harsh. Low, clean, soft malt character provides a brief grainy sweetness before a medium-dry finish. Lingering hoppy aftertaste with a clean, smooth alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant but restrained alcohol warmth is apparent. Lacks any harsh hop-derived astringency.
