Fidens Brewing Co Power Beyond Control
Power Beyond Control is a commandingly intense Triple IPA that showcases a saturated hop profile of Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra. It pours with a dense, hazy glow, releasing an aromatic explosion of overripe mango, blueberry, and bright grapefruit zest. The palate delivers a complex interplay of tropical fruit and dank pine resin, supported by a soft, doughy malt backbone that balances the significant 10% ABV. While it leans into the massive hop character expected of a Double IPA, the finish remains remarkably smooth, leaving a lingering trail of citrus peel and resinous bitterness that invites another sip.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper with a thick, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing. Modern hazy appearance with an opaque, soft glow.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring dominant notes of tropical passionfruit and blueberry from the Mosaic hops, layered with Citra-driven lime and peach. Simcoe adds a grounding layer of resinous pine and damp earth. Neutral, grainy malt provides a subtle background support, while the fermentation remains clean with only a hint of smooth alcohol.
