Pool Water is an expressive Double IPA that showcases the multifaceted Mosaic hop through every stage of production. It pours a deep gold with a persistent white head, releasing intense aromas of ripe blueberries, mango, and a distinct resinous pine. On the palate, the Mosaic character deepens into tropical stone fruit and light citrus, supported by a clean, neutral malt base that provides structure without sweetness. At 8.1% ABV, a smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, leading to a firm, lingering bitterness and a dry, refreshing finish characteristic of the style's high drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (approx. 7-9 SRM). Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing. Exhibits a slight, characteristic haze consistent with heavy dry-hopping.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Mosaic featuring prominent notes of blueberry, papaya, and mango, complemented by underlying floral and earthy pine resin. Malt character is neutral and grainy in the background.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors mirroring the aroma with intense tropical fruit, berry, and a touch of citrus zest. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. The malt provides a soft, unobtrusive support. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-restrained alcohol warmth is perceptible. No astringency.
