This Double IPA showcases a vibrant hop intensity, lead by the classic resinous and piney depth of Simcoe and Chinook. These bold, forest-like notes are brightened by a significant presence of Amarillo, which contributes layers of sweet orange citrus and ripe apricot. At 9% ABV, the beer remains remarkably approachable, balancing its high bitterness with a soft, modern malt cushion that avoids any heavy caramel weight. The interplay of grapefruit zest and tropical passionfruit creates a complex profile that evolves from dank resin to juicy fruit, typical of the brewer's focus on hop expression. It concludes with a clean, warming finish that highlights the essential oils of the hops.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Pours with a thick, frothy, off-white head that demonstrates persistent retention and heavy lacing. Displays a characteristic hazy to opaque clarity common in modern interpretations.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of dank pine, grapefruit zest, and resinous spice from Simcoe and Chinook. Complementary sweet citrus, orange blossoms, and stone fruit esters from Amarillo. Low, neutral, grainy malt presence in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Strong hop flavors dominate, mirroring the aroma with layers of spruce, resin, and pungent citrus peel. Initial impressions of mango and apricot transition into a firm, moderately high bitterness that is smooth rather than harsh. The malt character is low and supportive, providing a soft, doughy foundation. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, complementing the hop oils without being solventy. Low astringency with a creamy mouth-coating quality.
