Fidens Brewing Co's Lily is a lush Double IPA that exemplifies the modern, hop-saturated approach of the brewery. Leveraging a potent combination of Citra and Mosaic hops, this beer delivers a vibrant sensory experience defined by layers of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright tangerine. The aroma is punchy and tropical, supported by a soft, pillowy malt backbone that tempers the potent hop oils. On the palate, expect a juicy explosion of stone fruit and blueberry, followed by a clean, restrained bitterness that maintains high drinkability despite its strength. It finishes with a smooth, lingering citrus zest and a touch of floral sweetness.
Appearance. SRM 5-7. Deep gold to pale orange with a persistent, heavy haze. Thick, creamy white head with excellent retention and dense, tiered lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of tropical fruit, specifically mango and pineapple, paired with complex berry, tangerine, and light earthy pine. Very low, neutral, grainy malt sweetness in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Immediate wave of tropical punch and citrus zest from the Citra and Mosaic additions. Malt provides a soft, bready, and unobtrusive foundation. Bitterness is firm but rounded and smooth. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of grapefruit and resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol warmth is well-integrated and restrained, providing a smooth chest-warming sensation without harshness.
