Imperial IPA 8.5 º
This Double IPA is a sensory explosion of New Zealand terroir, showcasing a dense saturation of Nelson, Motueka, and Rakau hops alongside selected Citra. It opens with an intense aromatic bouquet of crushed white grapes, zesty lime, and stone fruit. The palate is dominated by layers of passion fruit and grapefruit, supported by the resinous depth of Nelson Cryo and Motueka Hop Kief. A soft, neutral malt base allows the vibrant hop oils to shine, leading to a moderately dry finish with a lingering, clean bitterness. The result is a bold, hop-forward experience that balances high intensity with smooth drinkability.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange with a prominent, opaque haze characteristic of modern interpretations. Topped by a dense, persistent white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense, pungent hop aroma featuring white wine-like gooseberry, fresh lime zest, and ripe apricot. Secondary notes of mango and citrus pith emerge from the Citra, backed by a very low, bready malt presence and clean fermentation.
Taste. High hop flavor intensity following the aroma, with dominant notes of tropical fruit, lime, and crushed green grapes. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. The malt provides a soft, grainy support without sweetness. Finishes medium-dry with a long-lasting fruit and resin aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its strength without being hot or solventy.
