FERMENTERARNA WEST COAST PILSNER NELSON SAUVIN
This modern interpretation of a German Pils delivers a vibrant sensory experience by marrying a traditional crisp lager base with the assertive character of Nelson Sauvin hops. The aroma is dominated by high-intensity notes of white wine grape, gooseberry, and passionfruit, which overlay a delicate foundation of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt and toasted crackers. On the palate, a firm bitterness characteristic of the West Coast style cuts through a light, cracker-like malt body, finishing exceptionally dry and clean. The result is a refreshing, hop-forward lager that balances classic European precision with bold, contemporary tropical and vinous aromatics driven by the 10g/L dry-hop addition.
Appearance. Brilliant straw to light gold (SRM 3) with a thick, long-lasting, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring distinct Nelson Sauvin characteristics of crushed gooseberry, white wine grapes, and subtle passionfruit. Low grainy-sweet malt aroma with a light doughy quality. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor is quickly overcome by a firm hop bitterness and flavors of white grape and tropical fruit. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering minerally bitterness and a clean, refreshing aftertaste. High bitterness is well-integrated with the lean malt profile.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a crisp, tongue-scrubbing sensation. Very smooth with no alcohol warmth and a flinty, refreshing sharpness.
