Tropical Splash is a saturated, high-impact Wild Specialty Beer that leans into the indulgent ‘smoothie’ aesthetic. The sensory profile is dominated by a dense core of Mango, Pineapple, and Peach, providing a thick, pulpy fruit foundation. A sharp, zesty Lime note cuts through the richness, while Coconut cream and Vanilla add a decadent, dessert-like layer of complexity. The addition of Lactose softens the wild fermentation’s acidity, creating a velvet-like texture. Despite the 8% ABV, the alcohol is well-hidden behind an explosion of tropical esters and a creamy, lingering finish that balances tart fruit acids with confectionery sweetness.
Appearance. Opaque and thick, resembling a fruit smoothie; deep golden-orange hue (SRM 6–8). Minimal, fast-fading white head with low retention and heavy fruit-pulp lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh Mango and Pineapple puree. Secondary notes of toasted Coconut and sweet Vanilla bean emerge, punctuated by a bright, acidic Lime zest. A subtle, clean lactic sourness and faint wild funk provide a structural backdrop to the massive fruit profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of sweet Mango and tangy Pineapple, followed immediately by the citrus punch of Lime. The mid-palate is rounded by Coconut cream and a distinct Vanilla sweetness. Hop bitterness is negligible, allowing the lactic acidity and fruit tannins to provide balance. The finish is long and fruit-heavy, with a smooth, lingering sweetness from the Lactose.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a creamy, heavy texture. Carbonation is moderate to low, enhancing the smoothie-like weight. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any harsh astringency.
