Fermenterarna’s "The Cat" is a vibrant Hazy IPA at 6.5% ABV, sharing its grain bill with "The Dog" to create a soft, pillowy foundation. It pours an opaque, luminous straw color with a dense white head. The sensory profile is defined by an intense hop saturation; notes of tropical stone fruit from Nectaron and gooseberry-like citrus from Nelson Sauvin dominate the nose, while Citra and Mosaic contribute layers of orange and berry. The palate is exceptionally smooth, featuring a restrained bitterness and a medium-full body. This results in a "juicy" finish that highlights the depth of the hop oils without any lingering harshness.
Appearance. 3–5 SRM. Opaque, straw-to-gold color with a hazy shine. Large, meringue-like white head with high retention.
Aroma. High intensity. Punchy tropical fruit (mango, pineapple), citrus (tangerine), and a hint of white grape. Low, neutral bready malt background. No noticeable esters or alcohol warmth.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with stone fruit and citrus. Low to medium-low bitterness. Soft, grainy malt backbone. Clean, off-dry finish with a lingering "juicy" aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Minimal alcohol warmth. No hop bite or astringency.
