Nile Nectar presents a lush, tropical experience characteristic of a modern Double IPA. Potent additions of Citra in the whirlpool and a heavy double dry-hop of Citra and Nelson Sauvin drive an intense sensory profile defined by overripe mango, fresh pineapple, and sweet melon. These tropical notes are anchored by a subtle, underlying dankness. The 8% alcohol content is well-integrated, providing a smooth, warming foundation that supports the juicy character without overwhelming the palate. It balances a soft, grainy malt backbone with a modern hop intensity, resulting in a saturated fruit profile that remains drinkable despite its significant strength.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (SRM 6–8) with a persistent, creamy, off-white head. While the style allows clarity, this version displays a significant, opaque haze reflecting its New England influence.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by overripe mango, pineapple, and floral melon. A complex, resinous dankness is present alongside low, neutral, grainy malt notes. Fermentation esters are clean and supportive.
Taste. Strong tropical fruit flavors of mango and pineapple lead into a mid-palate of sweet melon and white grape. Bitterness is firm but smooth, preventing the juicy sweetness from becoming cloying. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering hop resin and tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, smooth texture and moderate carbonation. A gentle, restrained alcohol warmth is present, contributing to the richness without adding any harshness or astringency.
