Fruits of the Street is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that showcases a bold interplay between tropical guava and bright mandarin. The sensory profile is dominated by the lush, musky sweetness of guava, layered with the zesty, citrusy snap of mandarin peel. A complex wild fermentation provides a sharp, lactic acidity and a subtle, funky character that grounds the fruit intensity. Despite the 8% ABV, the beer maintains a refreshing edge, balancing the succulent fruit notes against a dry, acidic finish. It offers a sophisticated, multi-dimensional experience where the specialty ingredients seamlessly meld with the rustic, wild ale base.
Appearance. Deep golden to pale orange with a persistent slight haze from the fruit addition. A modest white head forms but dissipates relatively quickly, typical for the style, leaving thin lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics featuring prominent tropical guava and distinct mandarin zest. Secondary notes of earthy funk and hay from wild yeast are present, alongside a clean, sharp lactic tartness. Malt and hop aromas are negligible.
Taste. Initial sharp acidity gives way to rich, jammy guava and tart mandarin citrus. The wild fermentation lends a complex, rustic funk and sourdough character. Malt is a background player, providing a slight cracker-like foundation. Bitterness is very low, as the profile is driven by fruit acidity. The finish is notably dry and lingering with a citrus pith aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with high carbonation that provides a lively, scrubbing effervescence. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. A subtle tannic astringency from the fruit skins adds structure and enhances the dry perception.
