This Double IPA showcases the 2023 fresh harvest of Citra hops, delivering an intense sensory experience defined by vibrant citrus and tropical depth. Aromas of ripe mango, pink grapefruit, and lime zest lead the way, supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone that allows the hops to remain the focal point. On the palate, a firm but smooth bitterness balances flavors of passion fruit and resin, finishing remarkably dry for its 8% strength. The use of Citra provides a lush fruitiness without the heavy sweetness often found in strong ales, resulting in a bright, hop-forward profile that emphasizes hop freshness and high drinkability.

Appearance. Deep gold (7 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves consistent lacing. Good clarity, although a faint hop-derived haze is acceptable for the style.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime, and tropical melon from the fresh Citra crop. A supportive, neutral, and grainy maltiness sits in the background. Clean fermentation profile with a very subtle, well-integrated alcohol note.

Taste. Strong and complex hop flavor mirroring the aroma with citrus zest and tropical fruit. Moderately high bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh. Low, clean, supportive malt character with a dry to medium-dry finish and a lingering hoppy, bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Medium carbonation provides a slight crispness. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the beer's substantial character without adding astringency.
