Night Vibes is an assertive Double IPA that leans into the lush, nearly biteable textures of the New England style. The sensory profile is defined by an exotic hop trio: Sabro and HBC472 impart distinct layers of creamy coconut, cedar, and sun-ripened tropical fruit, while Idaho 7 adds a resinous depth and hints of black tea. Beneath the intense hop saturation, a soft, doughy malt presence provides a sturdy foundation. Despite its strength, the finish remains smooth, avoiding harshness while allowing the unique woody and fruity esters of the specialty hops to linger alongside a gentle, integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (SRM 7-9) with a distinct, opaque haziness. Features a large, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by toasted coconut, pineapple, and stone fruit. Secondary notes of cedar, cream, and a faint resinous quality from the Idaho 7. Malt is supportive and neutral, resembling fresh bread dough.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and coconut cream. The HBC472 provides a unique woody, almost bourbon-like complexity that melds with the citrus of the Idaho 7. Bitterness is moderate but firm, providing enough balance for the 8.6% ABV without becoming harsh. The finish is lingering and fruity with a soft, off-dry malt character.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation and a noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Very low astringency despite the heavy dry-hopping.
