This potent American IPA offers an intense sensory experience, driven by a punchy Falconer’s Flight hop blend and vibrant Citra hops. The malt base is strategically lightened with Basmati rice, creating a lean, ultra-dry profile that amplifies hop expression. Expect a complex bouquet of citrus, tropical fruit, and resinous pine on the nose. The palate is defined by a sharp, clean bitterness and a crisp, neutral malt character that allows the floral and grapefruit notes to dominate. Despite its strength, the finish is remarkably clean and lingering, embodying a high-gravity, modern interpretation of the style with a clear focus on hop intensity.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (7-9 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a thick, long-lasting white foam head that leaves heavy lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime, and tropical fruit from the Citra hops, complemented by floral and piney nuances from the Falconer’s Flight blend. Malt aroma is low and grainy-sweet, with a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and resinous hop flavor. High to very high bitterness that is firm but clean. The malt flavor is low and neutral, exhibiting a dry, grainy quality enhanced by the Basmati rice. No caramel sweetness is present. The finish is very dry and crisp with a long-lasting, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. High attenuation leads to a crisp mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 8.2% strength without being harsh.
