FdL Pirouette
FdL Pirouette is a sophisticated Belgian Tripel that presents a deep amber hue with brilliant clarity, crowned by a thick, creamy, and persistent white head. The aromatic profile is complex and seamless, weaving together notes of ripe white fruit and melon with delicate spicy phenols and a soft touch of vanilla. While the initial impression offers a silky, honey-like sweetness with hints of toffee, the beer is expertly attenuated to provide a characteristically crisp and dry finish. The balance of firm bitterness and effervescent carbonation elegantly masks the 8% alcohol content, resulting in a remarkably drinkable and well-integrated monastic-style ale.
Appearance. Deep yellow to pale amber (approx. 6-7 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a long-lasting, creamy, rocky white head that leaves characteristic lacing.
Aroma. High intensity bouquet featuring moderate spicy phenols (peppery and clove-like) and fruity esters of melon and ripe white fruit. Light grainy-sweet malt character with subtle toffee and vanilla notes; hop aroma is low and floral.
Taste. Initial impression of soft, grainy-sweet malt and toffee that evolves into a complex spicy and fruity presentation. Flavors of melon, citrus, and pepper are prominent. Medium-high bitterness leads to a very dry, clean finish with a lingering spicy-fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a silky, creamy texture. High carbonation provides an effervescent, lively sensation. Alcohol presence is deceptive, offering only a subtle, well-integrated warmth.
