Creuser La Vague is a lush Double IPA that captures a vibrant tropical profile through an aggressive double dry-hop regimen. The trio of Citra, Strata, and Sabro hops delivers a sensory surge of ripe mango, passion fruit, and a distinct hint of creamy coconut. This collaboration between Fauve and Gross presents a modern, hazy interpretation of the style, where the intense hop saturation is supported by a soft, pillowy malt backbone. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 8% ABV complements the resinous berry and bright citrus notes, finishing with a balanced, fruit-forward linger that masks its significant strength.

Appearance. Deep gold color (7 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze typical of the hazy sub-style. Crowning the pour is a dense, creamy white head with excellent persistence and thick, decorative lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop-driven aromatics featuring prominent notes of sweet tangerine and grapefruit from the Citra, coupled with the strawberry and passion fruit essence of Strata. Sabro contributes a unique coconut and tropical cream character. A very low, clean, grainy malt presence sits in the background alongside a subtle, clean fruity fermentation profile.

Taste. The palate opens with an immediate wave of tropical fruit, emphasizing mango, pineapple, and lime zest. The hop flavor is complex, showcasing the herbal edge of Strata and the coconut-like smoothness of Sabro. Bitterness is moderate and soft, lacking any harshness, which allows the juicy hop profile to shine. The malt provides a neutral, soft, bready support. It finishes medium-dry with a long-lasting, resinous fruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a creamy mouthfeel. A gentle, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated without any harsh astringency.
