Farsight Brewing

This formidable Double IPA showcases a vibrant tapestry of New Zealand hops, delivering an intense sensory journey across its 10% ABV frame. Waimea provides a robust bittering foundation intertwined with fresh citrus, while a complex dry-hop blend of Nelson Sauvin and Motueka introduces elegant notes of white wine, gooseberry, and zesty lime. Riwaka adds a punchy layer of passionfruit and grapefruit, harmonized by the deep pineapple and stone fruit characteristics of Nectaron. The experience is defined by its bold, tropical profile and a remarkably clean, dry finish that emphasizes hop saturation over malt weight despite its significant strength.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with slight haze; moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, white wine grape, and lime. Secondary notes of gooseberry, pineapple, and grapefruit zest are supported by a clean, neutral, grainy malt background and subtle, smooth alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression of intense tropical fruit and citrus. Complex hop flavors of lime, stone fruit, and grapefruit are balanced by a firm, non-harsh bitterness. Malt character is clean and unobtrusive, leading to a dry finish with a lingering, elegant hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation with a noticeable but well-integrated and restrained alcohol warmth; no hop-derived astringency.
