This Imperial Porter presents a commanding sensory profile defined by its dual-barrel maturation. Blended from Oak Whisky and Oak Rye Whisky barrels, it offers a sophisticated interplay of spicy rye grains, smooth vanilla, and charred oak. The base beer provides a robust foundation of dark chocolate and espresso notes, characteristic of a high-gravity American Porter. At 12% ABV, the warmth is significant but integrated, accentuating the deep malt richness. Subtle earthy hop notes linger in the background, while the barrel influence drives the long, complex finish of toasted wood and spirit-driven spice, perfectly balancing the intense roasted malt character.

Appearance. Opaque, near-black (40+ SRM) with deep ruby highlights visible at the edges. Pours with a thick, dense, tan head that shows moderate retention and creates significant legs on the glass due to high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring deep roasted malts, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee beans. The barrel character is prominent, showcasing whisky-soaked oak, vanilla, and a distinct spicy rye note. Moderate fruity esters of black cherry or plum are present, alongside a subtle earthy hop background.

Taste. Bold and complex initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and toasted malts. A mid-palate surge of whisky and rye spice adds depth, complemented by oak tannins and vanilla.
